Always the case that an outside cabin with a balcony will give you more room at least by virtue of the balcony area. The MSC Lirica only has 132 cabins with a balcony low by many standareds nowadays whilst it has 276 inside cabins and another 504 with just an outside view. We prefer the balcony and unlikely we would now ever go on a cruise ship if we didn't have one. Many will say you only sleep there, so go for the cheapest and go indoors, this is true but we like to sit outside and enjoy the great view which might not necessarily always be at sea.
