MSC renames MSC Serenata

MSC Cruises has renamed the MSC Serenata as the MSC Splendida to "reflect her beauty and elegance".

"This unique ship has many wonderful attributes including attention to detail, choice of colours, perfect harmony of spaces and the displays of elegant works of art that will be on board," said Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO for MSC Cruises.

"This ship had to be named MSC Splendida, a ship created to amaze and inspire its guests."

MSC Splendida and sister ship MSC Fantasia will join the fleet in the autumn of 2008 and the spring of 2009.

Both will have a privately accessed area with a dedicated concierge, panoramic lounge, pool and solarium and direct access to the wellbeing centre.

There will be 90 suites each with a balcony plus a butler service, exclusive to the guests of the Club.

The ships will also have a three-dimensional cinema, a 1500 square metre spa, a Sport Bar and a 24-hour Tex Mex restaurant.
