I have just returned from a Baltic Cruise with MSC Cruise. I booked the cruise in a hurry and then read the reviews and wondered if I had done the right thing. Most of the reviews I had read were not very complimentary about this cruise line at all so we went expecting the worst.
Having been I can understand some of the comments but it has been a really wonderful cruise and I would recommend them. We were not cruising for the first time so had some other ships to compare to.
The ship was clean and constantly being kept clean. The cabins were spotless. Food was almost constant with a huge variety. We could eat as much as we liked from the self service buffet meals at breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and the midnight buffets. The evening meals were more formal and served by waiters. These portions were not huge but there were so many courses we didnt want large portions.Water was available free of charge for the buffet meals but not in the resturants for the evening meals. We paid 2.8 euros for each bottle of water we had.
The staff were very helpful and the entertainment was good. The theatre shows were visual and without talking but that is understandable due to the number of people from different nationalities on board. Announcements were usually given in 5 european languages.
There were lots of excursions to choose from and as normal for cruises they were all very expensive but no hard sell to encourage us to go on them.
All in all we have had a most enjoyable cuise.
