Just returned from our first cruise which we took on the Musica. We called at some wonderful ports - Bari, Katakalon, Piraeus, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Venice where the excursion guides were first class, the best we have known. The ship is beautiful but please be aware that most of the passengers are Italian and other nationalities are very much in a minority. Our impression is of overworked restaurant staff and rude staff in the Tourist Agency with a poor grasp of English who if they don't understand you get very irate. We were surprised at how expensive everything was on board with no chance lost for a "photo opportunity" which, judging by the hundreds of photos still left unclaimed on disembarking, many others felt also. We took a trip to Venice on our last day as our flight was not till later and when we arrived back at the dock to claim our luggage and get the bus to the airport, all part of the price, the MSC rep went off at such a speed that my poor husband who suffers with arthritis could not keep up and we ended up losing each other and the bus. In 90 degree heat, dragging a suitcase among hundreds of people we thankfully found each other again and the bus had only been outside the luggage area. The rep had been nowhere in sight until the last minutes. Not an experience I ever want to have again. It is such a shame when we feel that Italians are such fantastic hosts normally that they can have got it so wrong on this cruise. We will definitely go on another cruise but not with MSC even though they have offered us 10% off as compensation for the trauma!
Quality of Food2
We ate in the Oleandro restaurant, first sitting, and also in Gli Archi for breakfast. We did not try the midnight buffet. We also had room service delivered by an extremely petulant looking steward!
Entertainment3
We enjoyed the Celtic spirit show but the clowns were a bit cheesy!
Shore Excursions3
The excursions were expensive but the guides were first class. Our favourite excursion was to Olympia and our least favourite was the Venice trip on the last day.
Staff1
The staff in the Sushi restaurant were so nice. We had quite a long chat with them and they gave us very good service. These chaps were sadly not representative of the staff in general.

Cabins2
The cabin was excellent with a good sized balcony which we used as a refuge from the milling crowds in the evening. The facilities were good except we did not appreciate having to pay for the water so generously displayed for us!
